Service Operations - Shaft Seal. Before beginning any work on the shaft seal be
sure that all pressure internally has been relieved. Remove all dust covers and
insert the points of ring pliers into the two holes of the ring retainer in the
seal. To remove the lip type shaft seal, remove the dust cover and the retaining
ring.
