Service Operations - Shaft Seal Continued and Cylinder head and valve plate
removal. Tapping the new seal in place and securing the shaft will be the last
steps to the shaft seal replacement. To remove the cylinder head plate the
pressure in the system should be at 0 and all head screws should be inspected
for rust or damage. Remove all screws and use a gasket scraper and small hammer
to remove the plate. Carefully remove the cylinder head and it is recommended
that all the gaskets be replaced in this system when this part is opened.
