The Air Conditioning system is made up of many components such as a Compressor, Condenser, Evaporator, and Accumulator/Drier. Depending on the type of A/C system in your car, it may have either an Accumulator or a Receiver Drier. The main responsibility of the A/C Accumulator/Drier is to protect the Compressor from moisture and debris. The Drier is connected directly to the Evaporator outlet and stores excess liquid refrigerant. The Compressor receives the refrigerant liquid, vapor and oil from the Evaporator and separates the vapor. Then it passes the vapor to the Compressor.
The A/C Accumulator/Drier is located in the orifice tube system. It absorbs moisture from the refrigerant and it protects your BMW A/C system from getting frozen. If you find any problems with your BMW A/C Accumulator/drier, then you have to replace it with a quality part as soon as possible. Discount AC Parts carries OEM replacement parts, as well as aftermarket parts that are tested for quality to meet or exceed the industry standards.
