The BMW 323 A/C Accumulator/Drier is one of the main component which protect the Compressor by not allowing moisture and debris to contaminate it. The Accumulator/Drier receives refrigerant, Vapor and Oil from the Evaporator and stores it. The primary function of the Accumulator/Drier is to separate Vapor from liquid and Oil, and pass Vapor to the Compressor. The Accumulator/Drier contains a desiccant to remove moisture and filter out dirt. According to the type of vehicle, an A/C system may have either an Accumulator or a Drier.
