The BMW A/C system includes a Compressor, Condenser, Evaporator, Expansion device and many more parts. The A/C Compressor is called the heart of the Air Conditioning system. It pumps the refrigerant throughout the system and also acts as a junction which divides the high-pressure and low-pressure sides of the system. It is driven by a serpentine belt attached to the engine. It regulates and circulates refrigerant throughout the system.
The A/C Compressor draws refrigerant from the Evaporator, compresses it into high pressure gas and pushes it to the Condenser. If your car Compressor is malfunctioning then you must replace the A/C Compressor as soon as possible. If you do not, it may cause damage to other parts.
