The Audi A/C Accumulator/Drier protects the Compressor from liquid refrigerant. It is connected directly to the Evaporator outlet in order to store the excess liquid refrigerant. The Compressor receives the refrigerant liquid, vapor and oil from the Evaporator and separates the vapor. The Vapor is then passed to the Compressor. The Accumulator/Drier is located in the orifice tube system. It absorbs moisture from refrigerant and protects the A/C system.
